BC AL Journey #1

Best place to learn is from the beginning.

Greetings and welcome! I have been in software development for over three decades and proudly wear the badge of “Grey Beard”. As a developer we are called to constantly learn something new and re-educate ourselves with the changing software landscape.

As a longtime Business Central developer, I have seen a lot of changes. It is time for me to catchup on the latest best practices and new emergent technologies. Some of these changes are fundamental to how Business Central is developed, others are just better ways of doing things live done for years.

I am going to be starting from the beginning of Business Central software development, from the solution setup, through our first table and page extensions, all the way to complex project management and DevOps. We will take tangents through amazing new technology and tools and have fun tinkering with concepts and ideas that may not be ready for the mainstream world.

If you are new to software development in Business Central, welcome. If you are an experienced Business Central developer, I hope you learn something new with me, and don’t be afraid to share your findings as we grow together!

You can start here; each Journey post is a step in the Learning BC series. Business Central Journey Series – Page 3 – Aardvark Labs

There are lots of other posts that go into AI, and we will be seeing some integration posts later this year. Many of them will reference the Journey Series for things you might need to know before trying the cool technology. Have a good time!
